ResurFX is a non-ablative fractional resurfacing laser. Treatments work to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin fibres in the deep layers of the skin. This treatment can reduce photo damaged skin & scar tissue on the face, neck, chest as well as hands. This treatment will reveal younger-looking, more refined skin and dramatically reduce the appearance of wrinkles, scarring and age spots.
To combat the loss of volume, dermal filler is used. Injected just under the skin, the filler restores lost volume to give your hands a plump, youthful appearance.ResurFX treatments utilise non-ablative laser technology, meaning the surface of the skin is left intact, focusing the treatment on the deeper layers of the skin. This results in less downtime and reduced discomfort. To ensure our patients are as comfortable as possible, we do provide topical anaesthetic, though most patients don’t report any major discomfort.
The ResurFX treatments often result in some mild redness and swelling, lasting for up to 2 days. Most patients describe their downtime as like a sunburn. Over the following two weeks, skin will be exfoliating resulting in ‘micr-scabs’ which may feel similar to sand. Mild itching, peeling, flaking and dryness are also common post-treatment. Dermal fillers have little or no downtime, though you may experience some redness immediately after and bruising for up to a week post-treatment (bruising varies person to person).
